Position
Title: Level 1 Painter
Reports
To: Team Leader, Project Manager
Summary: Full time position assisting in commercial
& residential painting and decorating with emphasis on learning the skills
of the trade.

Responsibilities & Job Requirements:
1. Assist Level 2 painters in the preparation of
all surfaces interior and exterior; learn proper phases of preparation and
material usage.
2. Assist Level 2 painters in the painting of all
surfaces interior and exterior; learn correct coating methods and material
use. Assist in brush and roller painting
in water base and oil base materials.
3. Assist Level 2 painters with wood finishing
and refinishing; learn wood species characteristics, preparation, application
of coatings and proper material usage.
4. Ability to: move and utilize up to a 28'
extension ladder alone for entire work
shift (including all sizes of extension and step-type ladders less than 28');
erect and work on rolling scaffold for entire work shift; ability to carry full
5 gallon container of paint or equivalent weight on stairs; wear & use
respirators; work in all weather conditions applicable to painting; work while
on knees; bend and reach while preparing and painting surfaces for entire work
shift.

Management of multiple assigned customers, including: customer communication, scheduling, assignment of Team Leaders, coordinating excellent follow through, and customer satisfaction.

Management of all employment activities; including: seeking new team members, screening applicants, interviewing, hiring, dealing with team member conflicts, enforcing company handbook policies, and handling terminations when necessary

Position
Title: Business Manager
Reports

Summary: Part time position working to ensure business
processes run smoothly and company is financially solid

Responsibilities & Job Requirements:
Management of all activities involving the business
1. Provide regular financial reports to owners
2. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable

5. Providing documentation and insurance papers upon
request to customers
PROTOCOL FOR EVERY JOB SITE
1.
Company uniforms and name badges must be worn by all ABE Painting team
members when on duty.
2. The
job site Team Leader will do the Initial Kick-off at the job site on the first
day, by introducing himself or herself and then introducing members of the
team.
3. The
Team Leader will cover communications with the client. If a team member has a question, it should be
brought to the team leader not the client.
4. The entire team should keep the atmosphere
professional and positive. Act as if the
Customer is Watching you and Listening to Everything that You Say.....Because
THEY ARE!
5. All team members will use good professional
communication skills with the client.
6. No boom
boxes or loud noise making devices (including vehicle radios high volume cell
phone speakers) will be allowed. If you
want your tunes, please use personal headphones or keep volume at a personal
level, but make sure to keep the volume at a safe level so you don’t tune out
the customer or others working around you.
APPEARANCE & CLEANLINESS
1. We ask that you be neat and clean in your appearance
and habits.
2. Dress code is: team members must wear the authorized company
uniform: long sleeve shirt with company logo and white painters pants. As your uniform becomes soiled with use,
replacement will be necessary to maintain our clean and professional look. The uniform shirts are provided by the
company as needed and are available in every size. Painters pants are your responsibility. If you are found wearing an unacceptably
soiled uniform on a job site, you may be asked (by a Manager or Team Leader) to
leave and return with a clean uniform.
3. Your cooperation in keeping work areas
orderly is an important factor in preventing injury and promoting
efficiency. All tools you use must be
put away in their proper place after you have finished with them. This will prevent the loss of tools and time.
4. Food
containers and trash must be cleaned up after you eat.
5. Work
area must be cleared of trash, buckets, etc. and equipment left in an orderly
fashion at the end of each work day.
6.
Vehicles should be cleaned regularly so that they represent our company
well.
EXPLANATION OF HOURS
1.
A standard work week is 40 hours. The
Company reserves the right to assign or restrict overtime. Straight time is paid for forty (40) hours
per week and time and a half for hours over forty (40) hours per week, not for
daily overtime.
2. The first ninety (90) days on our team are
considered a probationary period. If at
any time during the probation period it is determined that you do not fill the
job requirements that you have been hired to do, your team member status may be
terminated without advance notice.

PAYROLL INFORMATION
We
process payroll through PayCor.com. Each team member’s weekly hours worked are
imputed on Monday. Payroll is processed
on Tuesday. Pay Day is every
Wednesday. Pay checks are received
by direct deposit into your checking or/and savings account(s). Pay cards through SkyLight Financial are
available if you prefer. SkyLight cards
work much like a debit card, but no bank account is required.
Team
members may sign up (for free) and receive login information for PayCor.com, where,
check stubs can be printed, as well as year-to-date totals and tax information.
ABE PAINT TEAM CONDUCT GUIDELINES
1. ABE Paint TEAM believes in working hard and
enjoying the work we do. Everyone’s
cooperation will make all of our jobs easier and more enjoyable. Please remember the rules we have exist for
your and the company’s benefit.
Violation of these rules may lead to disciplinary action including
suspension without pay or termination.
2. We
generally subscribe to a progressive discipline policy for poor job performance
and infractions of work rules. Our
objective is to work with team members to solve problems that arise. However, any conduct which interferes with or
adversely affects the Company is grounds for immediate discharge.
Examples of infractions:
- Disregard of
safety rules.
- Excessive
tardiness and absenteeism.
- Low level of
work output.
- Personal calls
during work.
- Horseplay and
or fighting.
- Being under
the influence of and or possessing illegal drugs or alcohol.
- Use of tobacco
at any time while representing the company.
- Deliberately
or negligently damaging property, tools, or machines belonging to the
Company, any employee, or customer; and failure to report such damage.
- Performing
personal business while on company time.
- Restricting
production or interfering with the performance of team member’s job.
- Negative verbal comments made about your
Manager, Team Leader, any team member, or customer; to a fellow team
member or customer.
TOBACCO FREE WORKPLACE
Because we recognize the hazards caused by
exposure to 1st and 2nd hand tobacco smoke, it shall be
the policy of ABE Painting to provide a smoke-free environment for all
employees and visitors. This policy
covers the smoking of any tobacco product and the use of oral tobacco products
or “spit”/”chew” tobacco, and it applies to all team members. No use
of tobacco products is permitted at the shop, jobsites, or at any time
while representing the company.

OFFICIAL HARASSMENT POLICY
1. It is
a company policy that all team members have the right to work in an environment
free from harassment including but not limited to harassment because of sex,
age, race, or national origin. The
company prohibits harassment of its team members in any form; by co-workers,
team leaders, managers, customers, or suppliers.
2. Team
members who have complaints of harassment should report such conduct to the HR
Manager, and if involving the HR manager to another manager. When investigations confirm the allegations,
appropriate corrective action will be taken.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
1. Our policy regarding drug and alcohol abuse
does not permit the membership on our team of persons who use drugs, chemicals,
or controlled substances that may impair sensory, mental, or physical functions
(referred to in this section as: “drugs/alcohol”). In furtherance of this policy, the company
has adopted a drugs/alcohol testing program that will be applied as follows:
2. Any prospective team member will be required
to submit to a drugs/alcohol test. Any
prospective team member whose drugs/alcohol test is confirmed positive will not
be offered employment.
3. Existing team members will be required to
submit to a drugs/alcohol test under the following circumstances:
A. Whenever an team member is required to submit to a physical
examination.
B. Whenever an team members suffers a work-related injury that requires
medical treatment. Testing will also be required of any team members involved
in a report-able work-related accident regardless of whether that team member
sustained injury.
C. Whenever there are reasonable grounds to believe that a team member’s
ability to perform his job is impaired due to the use of drugs/alcohol.
D. All team members may be subject to random drugs/alcohol screenings at
any time.
4. Any team member whose drugs/alcohol test is
confirmed positive will be subject to dismissal for violation of the company’s
drugs/alcohol policy.
5. Any drugs/alcohol testing conducted under
company policy shall be performed at a medical facility/laboratory designated
by the company. For purposes of
administrating this policy, the company will not accept test results from any
facility other than the one designated by the company.
6. Any team member’s refusal to (a) submit to a
drugs/alcohol test or (b) submit to such testing at a company-designated
facility shall be subject to termination of team membership.
7. Team members undergoing medical treatment who
are required to use prescription drugs on the job must provide the personnel
manager with a copy of the prescription and a letter from a treating physician
that describes any potential side effects associated with the prescribed drug
and that certifies that the drug will not impair the team member’s job
performance.
8. Under no circumstances will intoxicating
beverages or illegal substances be consumed on any jobsite or company
property. Team members having possession
of such beverages or drugs will be subject to immediate termination of team
membership.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY CONSENT FORM
1.
If we are to continue to fulfill our responsibility to provide reliable
and safe service to our customers and a safe working environment for our team, members
of our company must be physically and mentally fit to perform their duties in a
safe and efficient manner. Therefore, no
team member shall work or report to work while under the influence of alcohol,
illegal drugs, or drugs that affects their ability to perform the job in a safe
and efficient manner. No team member
shall consume, display or have in their possession alcohol or illegal drugs
while on company property or any assigned jobsite.
2.
Should a team member be required to take any kind or prescription or
nonprescription medication that may potentially affect job performance, the
employee is required to report this to the personnel manager. The personnel manager will determine if it is
necessary to temporarily place the team member on another assignment to ensure
his safety and the safety of other team members and the public. A letter from a physician may be required to
confirm that it is safe for the team member to continue working while on medication.
3.
Intoxication at work is grounds for disciplinary action, including
immediate discharge. As used in this
policy, intoxication means being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or
displaying physical evidence that indicates that drugs or alcohol have been
consumed. If any team member is
suspected of being intoxicated or under obvious impairment at work, he will be
suspended pending investigation.
4.
The company reserves the right to test applicants and team members for
the presence of drugs and alcohol, and refusal to undergo such testing is
grounds for refusal to hire or termination.
When urinalysis, blood tests, or other types of testing are requested or
necessary, such samples will be taken under the supervision of an appropriate
health care professional.
5.
To protect the best interests of team members and the public, management
at ABE Paint TEAM, will take whatever measures are necessary to determine
whether alcohol or illegal drugs are located or are being used on company
property or jobsites. Measures that may
be used will include, but will not be limited to, searches of people and
personal property located on company premises.
Searches may be conducted by law enforcement authorities or by
management. The aforementioned searches
and drug test will not be conducted if an individual refuses to submit;
however, refusal to submit will result in immediate termination.
6.
Team members experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs are urged
to voluntarily seek assistance to resolve such problems before these become
serious enough issues to require disciplinary action. Successful treatment will be viewed
positively, but it will not prevent normal disciplinary action for a violation
that may have already occurred, nor will it relieve the team member of the
responsibility to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
7.
As a condition of team membership, each of the company’s team members must
acknowledge by signature that he has received and understands this policy.
